Nursing Bras
Are there any plus-size women in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that can tell me a good place to go for nursing bras? I'm just kind of leery about ordering this type of thing on the internet...I'd like to be able to try it on.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I don't know about local shops, but I LOVED medelas nursing bras. They have great sizing for mamas with fuller figures, and larger breasts. If you have ahoslital with a good lactation specialist, they may have the bras there, or there may be a medela lady local to you. My local hospital has a big 'breast health' shop that has both mastectomy suppies and nursing supplies!

I love the bravado ones. It's the first time I've ever bought a bra without trying it on. They have a good return and exchange policy, too.

Which one are you using? I'm going to buy one of the original nursing ones and see how I like it:

I'm using the double plus in the large size - not quite the biggest one they make, but close. I love the way it stays in place, accommodates me no matter how full or empty I am, and keeps its shape through any washing. I don't put it in the dryer, but otherwise it's really easy-care, and it's not so expensive that ruining it would be a major disaster.

Best yet, it's located in Toronto, which is home in comparison to, say, L.A.
I love you and there's nothing you can do about itmoonsend on July 26th, 2006 03:41 am (UTC)
I second the Bravado bra love. I just recently saw that they're now making non-nursing bras in similar designs and I about cried with joy.

One thing I love about the bravado nursing bras is that they're stretchy and so will still support as your nursing boobs get huge then small again over and over again in the same day. They're also easy to do and undo one handed. And super comfy.

I will undoubtedly buy one or two of those when I'm no longer nursing - I have a horrible time finding bras that fit and look good, and knowing that that one will is wonderful.
